Palacenka is an inexpensive treat advertised on the windows of restaurants and sandwich shops throughout the Balkans. This delightful dish is comparable to crepes, if not virtually the same, and can be ordered with any number of fillings, though your options are usually divided between sweet and savory. Savory usually means trying to make lunch out of what should clearly be a dessert. I would suggest being honest and indulgent. Sweet toppings include nutella, eurocrem, jam, nuts, straight up sugar, and my personal favorite--green apples and caramel. Photo Courtesy of Stu Spivack.
