Nick FitzhughNick Fitzhugh

Publisher & Senior Designer

As Publisher, Nick co-manages the daily operations of Glimpse and is responsible for developing long- and short-term objectives for the organization. When wearing his Senior Designer hat, Nick executes all of Glimpse design needs and helps manage the Glimpse brand. Since Nick co-founded Glimpse in 1999, he’s helped turn what started out as an undergraduate student initiative into an independent nonprofit that works in conjunction with National Geographic. In addition to his experience with Glimpse, Nick has also served as the Associate Director of Research for Building2 Partners, LLC; the Vice President of Business Development for MDigital Systems; a reporter for the Cape Cod Chronicle; the Director of Public Relations and Associate Captain for the FSAE Racecar Design Team; and the Vice President of Capital Sap Company, a family-operated maple syrup company. Nick graduated from Brown University in 2002 with a BA in Comparative Literature. He has lived in France, Italy, and Switzerland; speaks French and Italian; loves film, cooking, outdoor activities, and storytelling; and still wonders if he should call himself a photographer.

Kerala TaylorKerala Taylor

Editor in Chief

As Editor in Chief of Glimpse, Kerala oversees the full scope of editorial activities, sets editorial strategy and policy, and co-manages daily operations. Kerala co-founded Glimpse in 1999, and has helped grow the organization from an undergraduate campus magazine to an independent non-profit and website that works in close collaboration with National Geographic. In addition to her experience with Glimpse, Kerala has managed communications and development for the Immigrants in Action Committee, a Rhode Island-based community group; published a novel, How Things Break, which won the Elixir Press Inaugural Fiction Award; and bartended in many fine and not-so-fine drinking establishments for the five years that Glimpse was unable to issue paychecks. She is now nearing completion of her second novel, tentatively entitled Diary of Spectacular Roadkill. Kerala graduated from Brown University with a BA in Hispanic Studies. She has studied abroad in Bolivia, worked in Spain, and taken drumming classes in Ghana. Now she sits in an office and travels vicariously through the stories she edits for Glimpse.

Elizabeth Gottwald

Photo Editor (Intern)

Since graduating from University of South Carolina in 2008, Elizabeth has been doing her best to avoid the "real world." With the dream of becoming a travel photographer, she quit her job last summer to whirl around Europe, covering 18 countries in eight weeks--and taking 6,972 photos. She has now been to 32 countries, and when she's not traveling, she's busy planning her next adventure. She loves trivia, sudoku, and Quizno's (Chicken Carbonara, anyone?), she cried the first time she saw a polar bear in the Arctic, and she cried when she saw Bob Barker on The Price is Right. She doesn't believe that she can change the world, but she hopes her photography will inspire people to travel and explore.

Amy Glynn

Editorial Intern

Amy is a senior at George Washington University, double majoring in English Literature and Human Services. She has lived in China, United Kingdom, and Italy, and she speaks Mandarin, Italian, and Latin (well, she reads Latin). She is currently in the process of applying to graduate schools in the U.S. and the UK. She loves the three R's: running, reading, and Rooibos tea, and she hopes to one day have her own little library filled with old books that smell like her grandma's perfume, a few calico cats, and a deep maroon wall.

Shaina Shealy

Editorial Intern

Shaina is a senior at George Washington University with a double major in Fine Art and International Affairs. She has lived in Alabama, Uganda, Bolivia, the Netherlands and Washington, DC, and can't wait to figure out where her next home will be. She's a fiend for homegrown tomatoes, language barriers, books on international development, southern cookin' and riding her bike too fast. She has been trying to learn how to beatbox for the past five years and is about to give up.
