Hello Moto!

June 25, 2009 @ 6:57 AM | Permalink

Moto taxis are everywhere in Kigali and they're generally a very efficient way of getting around. And they're a lot of fun. Most rides cost between 300 - 700 RWF (just under to just over a dollar) depending on how far you want to go and the tenacity at which you barter. This first video is of a ride into "town." It's the main shopping center in Kigali and is generally the busiest place in the city, which ain't all that busy.

This video is of a really fun ride from Kabarondo to Rwinkwavu in the Eastern Province, very close to Akagera National Park. Banana trees are on the left.

These are a couple of great videos that convey a real sense of what it must be like to be in Kigali. Driving around town must be exciting and a bit frightening at times. Stay cool.
