Asa Delta
I jumped off the cliff.
And flew.
When I landed, I said:no language has words to describe this. I only share the taste of flight through the aftermath.
Eyelids shut, I stood on the beach listening to the sea. It´s growl ever closer but fleeing before attack. My feet sunk farther into each sand as each wave washed under my feet or licked my legs like an eager puppy or rushed past my calves, knees, thighs to some unknown destination. So soon I was standing on tiptoe deep in the sand. I was heat and sunshine and the ground beneath my feet.
When I opened my eyes, nothing had changed but me. I had lost 20 years of life. So the blue green sea and sky and sand were all fascinating, nameless sensations. Other children were body-surfing through the waves and shouting. Still others were breathing through their gills for the first time or feeling the ocean breeze buoy up their wings and toss their bodies. I turned my palms toward the sea.
I breathed in.
Only...feeling sad, that, you were not there to share the moment with me.
