Reflections on the praia

I involuntarily got my first tattoo today. When I was sleeping on the beach, a newspaper blew over onto my side. I've been contemplating my navel for the last 10 minutes trying to figure out what it says.
It's a good thing the print from the book I was reading didn't melt onto my face at the same time (as it was strategically located there to permit the sleeping). While poetic, having narratives of racism in Brasil as a new style of makeup might be awkward in certain social situations.
