Top 5 Strange Greek Crimes

December 20, 2009 @ 2:33 PM | Permalink

1) The former President of Cyprus was kidnapped... from his grave. Don't take my word for it. Just ask the BBC

2) A Greek convict escapes from his maximum security prison by helicopter... for the second time. Here's CNN's take.

3) A man attempts to rob an ATM... by using a forklift to steal the entire machine. Greece's Kathimerini has the story.

4) A man from Northern Greece is arrested after police find weapons hidden in his house... along with three skulls and a piece of a Byzantine tomb. Again, Kathimerini breaks the news.

5) A Police officer convinces a suicidal man to drop his weapon... which then shoots the officer when it hits the ground. Again, the Kathimerini proves that it's the source for bizarre Greek crime.
