Shalom

You've heard it before, and I will say it again. Volunteering is one of the best ways to experience a country while traveling. But don't take my word for it. Watch and listen to a group of middle aged and seniors from the US, France, South Africa, and Australia as they volunteer for three weeks for the Israel Defense Force (IDF). Among other things, this group is organizing and preparing the medical kits carried in the field by Army medics. They are quite literally doing the work that will save many lives. If they can do it, you can do it. Visit www.sar-el.org for information about volunteering in the IDF.

(Special thanks to Sar El Commander Nachshon Ben-Tsion, the Sar El Volunteers, and the IDF Spokespersons' Unit for granting permission to do this story)
