Danielle Taylor
As of 2/12/09... I'm a 23-year-old writer with only one blank page left in my passport and I'm constantly looking for new adventures to fill it up. Currently, I'm a student at the University of Maryland finishing up a B.S. in human geography (I finished my B.A. in magazine journalism and English in December 2008), and during the spring 2008 semester, I circumnavigated the globe with Semester at Sea. I'm now spending a few days a week during my final semester as an editorial intern at Glimpse. In my travels, I've kayaked a bioluminescent bay in Puerto Rico, killed my camera during a waterfall jump in Brazil, gotten charged by an elephant in South Africa, been soaked in a monsoon during a Hindu festival in Mauritius, accidentally wound up 50km from the airport while on a (non-high) layover in Amsterdam, played jump rope with Mexican kids in Tijuana, had my sleeper train catch fire in India, swam with stingrays in the Caymans, shared my lunch with a coconut-picking monkey in Malaysia, hung out at a zoo in Vietnam with kids from the Saigon School for the Deaf, taught students at China's Peking University the Soulja Boy dance, shared a laugh over a funny dog with an ancient Japanese woman in Hiroshima, learned to surf off Oahu's North Shore in Hawai'i, slept in a cloud forest in Costa Rica and most recently enjoyed many good nights at traditional pubs across Ireland.
