Valerie Hohman
After three years of writing grants for the Community Reinvestment Fund, USA, a nonprofit based in Minneapolis, MN, Valerie is on her way to New Delhi to explore the changing face of economic development in India. She’s returning to India on a Fulbright grant after studying abroad in South India as an undergrad seven years ago. On that first trip, Valerie fell in love with the country and has made her way back for several short vacations. She is looking forward to a longer, working trip and to her affiliation with Action India, a nonprofit organization advocating for the rights of people living in New Delhi’s slums. Valerie holds a Master’s Degree in urban planning from the University at Buffalo and a BA in English from SUNY Geneseo. Her fondest adventures abroad include hopping aboard a moving train on her way to Darjeeling, trekking the Annapurna mountain range in Nepal, and tying her own sari at a wedding in Delhi.
