A three month internship in the Czech Republic has turned itself into a year-long commitment. I came for work experience and a quick cure for the travel bug, but am receiving far more than I ever expected in return: friends from around the globe, lessons in expat etiquette, a growing belief that beer may actually be its own food group and a heightening awareness that quarter-life crises arise for far better reasons than we’re able to immediately comprehend. I find quite random things funny here in Prague, like a ferret on a tram or an elderly couple canoodling in the park. Most of my days are filled with work-stuff as I simultaneously become more familiar with Czech dry humor, while weekends consist of getting lost on cobblestone streets. I hope to explore more of the countryside by car in Spring and master the pronunciation of "bože" (along with many other phrases) by the time I return home in June...
